If you've spent any time online, you will already know that there are lots of scams out there! You might have even begun to doubt that there are any work-at-home positions available for serious jobseekers. If this sounds like you, you aren't alone!

Believe me, there are real home based jobs, but what most of the work at home sites omit in their information packages is that it takes work to get work. Finding a telecommuting job can be a full time job in itself, but if you don't have all the facts, you will be spinning your wheels trying to get somewhere or you will probably give up within a few weeks. That would be a shame, because there aren't enough high quality telecommuters as it is!

Setting up shopping carts for ecommerce is part of my experience as a Virtual Assistant.

When you are just getting into ecommerce and don’t have a huge budget to spend on monthly payments for a really great shopping cart, you may not realize that you have some budget friendly options.

Of course, you can go with opensource software like oscommerce http://www.oscommerce.com/ and zencart http://www.zencart.com/ but you do have to be a bit of a techy to set them up and you also have to have a merchant account to be able to accept credit cards online.

Here are some of the best options for easy and inexpensive payment processing options.

Of course, I'm assuming that you have optimized your website with the best SEO tactics and are ready to have the world come to you.

You have also sought out your competitors and scoped out their blogs and forums. You've posted on your own blog, written articles and tweeted loudly to get attention. How about a free e-course written loosely in conjunction with your teleseminar?

Trying to build a list can become your worst nightmare if you do not take care to do it in the right way. Here’s several ways to destroy your own business while you’re trying to build it.

Your first mistake would be not having a niche, or target market. Do not try to address the entire online world with your list. Instead, focus on a group of people who want the information you have. Why would you send your message out to any others? That would be like standing on a street corner, wearing an advertising “ sandwich board” to promote your products.

If you think you have to pay for quality tools and resources to build your business, I have a surprise for you!

I've compiled a short list here of my most favourite resources and best of all, they are all FREE!

1. Number One on my list is SiteManPro. It is a complete business management software that allows you to run multiple sites from one place and includes a blog and a shopping cart!

I had settled on building a site with Joomla and its' open source extensions. I happened upon finding the SMP. After reading up on SMP's features, I decided to use it to build a membership site for myself to see if it would be suitable for my clients.

What a different experience I had from using open source! SMP is so intuitive to use and set up! With excellent service I've had, I am now using it to build websites for all my clients.

The fact that SiteManPro's features are so comprehensive and function so well and have such a short learning curve, combined with their excellent service makes SMP one of the best platforms out there!

SMPExperts can provide you with free training or you can let their certified technicians build your membership site for you.

Because I work full time as a Virtual Assistant, I receive a lot of email. I receive email from my own clients, from new clients, and also I receive my favorite ezines.

My favorite email software has been Thunderbird with all of its bells and whistles. It has the ability to create folders and filters directly into the folders as well as integrate with a Calendar and a Tasks Calendar.

However, I like saving my important emails and always worry about their loss should my computer crash before they are all backed up. It's happened before!

So, I've been exploring Gmail lately. I've set it up to receive all of my email addresses and filter my emails just like I've been doing with Thunderbird. I've also color coded my folders so I can instantly spot my favorite client's email. So far so great!

Successful Marketing for Introverts

by Beth Woodward

In my experience I have seen many levels of introvert and extrovert. Let me share some of my own.

Invite me to a party — I’d rather have a root canal

Have me speak about something I’m passionate about in front of
a group of people — I shine.

Put me in a “casual” networking group — root canal please.

Put me in a “structured” networking group where I can ask for what
I need and help others at the same time — I’m in heaven.

We all have our levels of how we interact, the environments where we thrive and the environments where we are extremely uncomfortable. I have seen many people go into business for themselves, myself included, that would rather give up their dream than to market their business and themselves. I was almost one of those statistics. I almost QUIT my dream until I discovered the secret.
