Private Label Rights Defined

Are private label rights and resell rights the same thing? Many people think they are but they are mistaken. The terms can be confusing.

Quite often you will have the opportunity to purchase a product, usually an ebook or article or series of articles that come with either Resell Rights or Private Label Rights (more commonly known as PLR).

Resell rights give you the right to resell the product according to the terms set out in the license that comes with the product. In other words, you probably will not be able to alter the product in any way or put your name on it as the author. When you promote this product on your website, blog or through your emails, you can earn money through its sale.

Be sure you don't confuse Master Rights with Resell Rights. Master Rights allows you to sell both the product and the resell rights. Resell Rights allow you only to sell the product.

If you have Private Label Rights, you can edit or completely alter the product as you see fit. You can personalize it with your own name, your company's name, your own graphics and say that you are the author. You can add or delete words, chapters and graphics and you can take parts of the product and turn them into several different products. You can do with the PLR product wherever your imagination or inclination takes you.

PLR products usually cost more than Resell Rights or Master Rights products because you can do more with them. After you have changed the PLR products, you can sell them or give them away or use them in whatever way you want.

PLR products can save you a lot of time producing new products for yourself. So, when you are shopping around for new products or want to create a product for yourself, PLR products are the best choice.
